Indonesias Abuses in Papua Prompt Call for UN Probe Human Rights Watch

The request by Vanuatuu2019s Justice Minister Ronald Warsal on behalf of Vanuatu, Tonga, Nauru, Palau, Tuvalu, the Marshall Islands, and Solomon Islands expresses concern about u201cwidespread violationsu201d of human rights in Papua including extrajudicial killings of Papuan activists. The Indonesian government has rejected these allegations and stated that it u201calways endeavoured to address any allegation of human rights violationu201d in Papua.”
