The Horseshoe Inn

Pleasant 17th century coaching inn, originally known as the "Halfway Inn" until the adjacent Blacksmiths forge gained precedence with a name change. This pub is hard to miss when approaching Cowes, as it stands on the junction at Northwood with traffic lights and a large garage ahead. There is a large car park, a proper public bar with pool and darts, and a saloon bar that boasts a well, soon to come is a restaurant extension. Since the arrival of the present landlord, well known in the area as a sportsman, darts and pool league player, the pub has extended its range of real ales and during the summer months will see an ever-changing selection of at least six ales.
