This is probably the largest private collection of post
boxes and postal equipment in the United Kingdom
(possibly in the world). The Museum is situated near
Newport, Isle of Wight in the paddock of an old house.
The collection has been acquired over many years and has
grown to the point where it requires a home of it’s own
to protect it from damage and to allow the display of
the material. A large wooden building to house the
smaller and less robust items has been constructed on
the site and is currently being fitted-out. The main
display of post-boxes are situated around the paddock
and orchard. |
|
Arthur Reeder, the owner
of the private collection, is pleased to receive visitors by appointment
- contact details can be found at the Isle of Wight Postal Museum web
site. Please contact Arthur or Kim in advance of
your visit to avoid possible disappointment.
Although there is no charge for visits to the
Postal Museum, donations are always welcomed to assist with general
administration costs. |
