Coastal Walk in Various Stages

The local authority documented Coastal Walk is in 6 stages starting from Cowes and circumnavigates the island in an anti-clockwise direction finishing at East Cowes; the earlier walk in 2001 followed this walk but merged stages 3 & 4 and 5 & 6

Porchfield and beyond Shalfleet is a bit of a trudge along roads with NO pavements with only two short footpaths
 

Luccombe to Sandown is predominately on pavements
 

Seagrove Bay to Ryde is predominately on pavements
 

East Cowes to Ryde is virtually  all on road, pavement or tarmac except for the path around Quarr
