Cross Wight Coastal Walk

 

A 'Coast to Coast' walk along the southern coastline from Bembridge to Alum Bay passing Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor, St Lawrence, Chale & Freshwater Bay

Weather: Sunny with cloud clearing to blues skies & very warm
Time: 12 hours - all photographs taken between 06:30 & 18:30
Terrain: Coastal path, cliff edge, pavement, sea wall with limited road walking

Height: 526 ft
Assent: 4,485 ft (Almost as high as walking up Ben Nevis in Scotland)
Grade: Seriously strenuous
Parking: Park free off road (GR: SZ 655-877) or pay in the car park (GR: SZ 656-880 - £4.00 for 8 hours)
