Information plaque on the Treffry Viaduct & Aquaduct
 


The Treffry viaduct comprising ten 40' arches to a height of 100' over a length of 650'
 


Each supporting pier is 28'
 


200,000 cubic feet of granite was used in it's construction
 


Constructed in 3 years between 1839 & 1842 by Joseph Treffry
 


The 10 ton foundation stone was laid 15 March 1839
