This was the week of near hurricane force gales in the south, floods along the Severn Valley & the River Ouse and generally very wet weather everywhere.

June 2005

We stayed at White Wicket at Lonsties on the outskirts of  Keswick.  This year we explored some of the lesser frequented fells; some might say 'Wainwright Bagging' but that's only true if it's the intention to complete them all which is not our intention. There are some fells, i.e. Mungrisdale Common, that probably will only be seen from edge of Skiddaw Forest.

September 2005

A 'stopover day' returning home from Scotland, we stayed at Borwick Lodge which is set in the heart of the English Lake District in a delightful and tranquil setting

March 2006

We stayed at Manasty in Applethwaite, on the outskirts of  Keswick, which provides superb views across to the North Western Fells.  A week spent revisiting favourite haunts & exploring one or two new fells including Mungrisdale Common, which I vowed never to do.

June 2006

We stayed at White Wicket at Lonsties on the outskirts of  Keswick.  This year we explored some more of the lesser frequented fells as well as revisiting one or two favourites; some might say further 'Wainwright Bagging' but that's only true if it's the intention to complete them all.

Christmas 2006

We stayed at White Wicket at Lonsties on the outskirts of  Keswick. A week spent taking in leisurely strolls over the Christmas week.

October 2010

A variety of walks to suit the changeable weather conditions during our  week spent at Dockray in the Eastern Fells

Christmas 2010

The weather conditions during the week were extremely cold with snow across the whole region & with lakes frozen over - despite warnings from Keswick Mountain Rescue, the attraction to walk on the ice proved too much for many who walked, skated & even rode their bikes across Derwent Water

March 2011

A week spent at Dockray in the Eastern Fells visiting the Eastern & Western Fells

June 2011

A fortnight spent at Dockray in the Eastern Fells visiting the Central, Eastern, Far Eastern, North Western, Southern & Western Fells

Oct 2011

A week spent at Dockray in the Eastern Fells making the most of wet weather, low cloud & high winds; fortunately, the rain didn't last all day & most walks were done in the dry (excepting wet feet) but high winds forced a change of plans on the walk onto Skiddaw & floods at the head of Derwent Water meant a detour by road around Grange

June 2012

A fortnight spent at Borrowdale in the North Western Fells with weather extremes ranging from warm sunshine to torrential rain & localised flooding as Derwent Water rose by 6 feet; weather conditions more akin to autumn than summer

September 2012
